Never hesitate when it comes to potential electrical problems. Electrical issues can quickly develop into major catastrophes.

    • Why are my lights flickering?
Flickering lights are usually caused by a loose wiring connection, an overloaded circuit, or a failing light fixture or bulb. If flickering happens across your whole house, it can point to a bigger issue with your electrical panel or utility connection, so it’s worth having a licensed electrician take a look.
    • How much does it cost to rewire a house?
Rewiring typically costs anywhere from a few thousand dollars for a small home to $15,000 or more for a larger home, depending on square footage, accessibility, and the age of the existing wiring. Older homes with knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring often cost more to bring up to current code. United Electric provides free, no-obligation estimates for Denver-area homeowners.
    • Signs of a faulty electrical panel.
Warning signs include breakers that trip frequently, a burning smell near the panel, visible rust or scorch marks, flickering lights, and warm or discolored outlets. Panels over 25-30 years old, or ones that still use fuses, are also good candidates for an upgrade before they become a fire risk.
    • GFCI outlet vs. regular outlet.
A GFCI (ground-fault circuit interrupter) outlet constantly monitors electrical current and instantly shuts off power if it senses a ground fault, protecting against electric shock in wet areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and garages. A standard outlet has no built-in shock protection, which is why code requires GFCIs anywhere water and electricity are close together.
    • Is a burning smell from an outlet dangerous?
Yes. A burning smell usually means wires are overheating, insulation is melting, or there’s a loose connection arcing inside the outlet, all of which are fire hazards. Turn off power to that circuit at the breaker and avoid using the outlet until a licensed electrician can inspect it.

Had United out to update a service panel and service line from the pole, along with updating the wiring in an old 50’s ranch. The whole crew is top notch and do amazing work! Will definitely hire again on my next project!

George and Sean from United Electric installed my Meross EM16P Smart Energy Consumption Monitor with 18-circuit monitoring, and they did an excellent job. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and showed up on time. Their pricing was reasonable, and they worked efficiently while still being very safety focused. This was a smart panel monitoring installation, so I appreciated that they took the time to make sure everything was installed cleanly and correctly. They clearly understood the electrical side of the job and were careful around the panel while also keeping the process moving. They left the area clean, were easy to work with, and I would definitely recommend George, Sean, and United Electric to friends. I would gladly hire them again for future electrical projects. Update Aug 2026: I have worked with United Electric several times. Most recently, Frank and Dmitriy completed a wide range of projects, including electrical panel work and installing home energy-monitoring sensors, hanging a chandelier, troubleshooting Ethernet connections between rooms, and replacing dimmer switches. It was a diverse mix of work, and they were excellent in every part of it. They showed up on time and were clean, courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I felt that I received great value from their work, and I’m glad to have finally found an electrical contractor that I genuinely enjoy working with and trust. I highly recommend United Electric.

I couldn't be happier with my experience using United Electric for the installation of my ChargePoint Home Flex EV charger! From start to finish, the entire team was professional, punctual, and took real pride in their work. Not to mention the installation was clean and done right the first time! A special shoutout to Shawn, who went above and beyond from the very beginning. He conducted a thorough and detailed initial walk-through, then followed through by being part of the installation crew as well. It was great to have someone so knowledgeable and invested in the project present every step of the way. If you're looking for a reliable, top-notch electrical company, United Electric is the team to call. Highly recommend!

United Electric delivered excellence on every aspect of my project from advice to install and post-completion follow up. Plus, they are just great people and it was nice to have them around -- a bonus when a project takes a good chunk of time to complete like mine did. I highly recommend United Electric.

George was a true professional from the start on a difficult circuit panel installation and upgrade to a 400 Amp service. He listened to all of my concerns ahead of the job and came up with a plan to meet all of my needs. He showed up on time and completed the job on schedule and on budget.

Dmitri, George and Sean replaced my ancient electric panel, upgraded it to 200 amps and brought it fully up to code, and ran a new dedicated service through my attic to my garage for my plug-in hybrid. Their price was very reasonable, they were on time and great to work with. Now I don't have to worry about any overloaded breakers popping, and when I remodel the kitchen, there's plenty of space for some extra appliances. These guys worked hard and did a great job.
